Lucky Bean Poetry Night

Join us Monday, May 23rd at 6:30 pm for a poetry reading hosted by Lucky Bean Press, followed by an open mic.

This month’s featured reader is Renard Boissiere. We will be celebrating the release of his first chapbook from Lucky Bean Press.
Boissiere is a native New Orleanian and local educator who’s been recreating and updating his literary portfolio, half of which was lost in August 2005 to Hurricane Katrina. Fortunately, the other half of this sometimes forlorn literary collection — the poetry half, that is – made it out safely, stashed in a binder and stuck next to quarter-inch cords and MIDI cables for a hastily planned jaunt up to the northeast. Now back home for a decade, when not instructing students how one might stay true to the path of the yellow brick road, he may be found multitasking life away at a local coffee shop — or taking a break at a local bookstore.
