Michelle Awad is an American poet, coffee shop fixture, and textbook Scorpio. Her book, Soul Trash, Space Garbage, was self-published in December 2021 and is her first full-length poetry collection. Previously, she has been published in various anthologies, literary magazines, and journals including Sinew: 10 Years of Poetry in the Brew, Z Publishing’s America’s Best Emerging Poets anthology, Calliope Magazine, and the Sequoya Review.
A Tennessee native turned New Orleanian, Michelle believes firmly in going where your heart no longer feels homesick. In her spare time, you can find her sitting on her back porch in Algiers with a telescope and that idiot she’s in love with, sipping a gin cocktail and listening to the sounds of the city. Her dog, Eli, is probably there, too, protecting the yard from squirrels.
Paris Tate (@paristate89) is the author of one poetry collection titled “All the Words in Between.” Her poetry can also be found in the anthology Maple Leaf Rag, literary journals such as Tilted House Review, The New Guard Review and Infection House, a New Orleans-based online literary magazine that focused on life during the COVID-19 pandemic and other events that defined 2020. Born and raised in a suburb just outside of New Orleans, Louisiana, Tate continues to live near New Orleans where she works in a library and will be attaining her Master’s in Library and Information Science from Louisiana State University.
Deveree Extein (@bydeveree) is a 23-year-old poet who lives deep in the Louisiana swamps with her kitten, Luna. Her debut poetry collection, Flicker: poems, was self-published in 2019. When she isn’t writing, Deveree likes to paint, play guitar (badly), and watch Law & Order SVU.
