Book Launch for God’s Favorite Redhead
May 30, 2021 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
Join us Sunday, May 30th at 4 pm in our courtyard to celebrate the launch of God’s Favorite Redhead: Poems by Caroline Rowe.
Tickets and masks required. Your ticket will include a signed copy of God’s Favorite Redhead.
Rowe’s poems dance with “bedraggled things,” “tubercular face[s],” “dream scab[s],” and “skeletons that sing in the fire.” The poet converses with their gods, their devils, and their dog. It is an exciting ride in which the images surprise the reader like lost ghosts and the word/sound play invigorates the mind and mouth. Rowe’s willingness to bellow and lay bare makes for an ecstatic read that leaves one pining for the next edition. Lucky Bean Press is grateful for the opportunity to tether these poems to paper in collaboration with Nola DNA and Verna Press.
Caroline Rowe is a native of New Orleans. Her work has appeared in Califragile, Seems, Adanna, and in the anthology, Maple Leaf Rag (Portals Press). Jabberwock Review named her poem, “Suicide Note of the Tiger Wrangler,” a finalist for the Nancy D. Hargrove Editors’ Prize, and Seems has nominated her “Decatur Street Effictio” for the forthcoming Pushcart Prize. She currently resides in New Orleans with her husband, poet David Rowe, and their Doberman, Iris. She is a graduate of the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts’ Creative Writing Program. God’s Favorite Redhead is her first chapbook.
