A Night of Poetry with Danita Bright, Raina Zelinski & Nick Heard
June 12 • 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Join us Monday, June 12th at 6 pm for A Night of Poetry with local poets: Danita Bright, Raina Zelinski, and Nick Heard!
The reading will be held upstairs and is free to attend.
Danita Bright is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. She was born and raised in the Lower Ninth Ward and is the mother of four children and grandmother to two. She evacuated to Monroe, Louisiana after Katrina and was exiled there for twelve and a half years before returning to home to New Orleans.
Nick Heard is a New Orleans-born writer of poetry and science fiction, and a labor activist and union leader. He plays entirely too many video games, and would maybe be published by now if it weren’t for a chronic inability to finish anything, but makes up for it with self-deprecating jokes and live poetry readings.
Raina Zelinski is a teacher at the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts. With her partner, she hosts the Lucky Bean Poetry Reading monthly at Blue Cypress Books. Her first chapbook “diminution” was published in 2019. Recent work can be found in “nurture,” Trampoline, dialogos, and the forthcoming Poetry Buffet anthology.
